AW14 & London Fashion Week & Autumn / Winter Wardrobe

AW14 & London Fashion Week & Autumn / Winter Wardrobe

(First independent blog post from me 'no pressure' - Lauren xoxo )

AW14 is really on its way, the high street brands have been reeling in there Autumn Winter clothing and re arranging shelves and stock. Shops just like Topshop, H&M and Zara have all been awaiting AW14 with their campaigns promoting the upcoming trends and wardrobe essentials. Independent stores such as Serge DeNimes and OWKAY clothing have been awaiting AW14 with Serge DeNimes releasing tomorrow.
Overall AW14 surely looks to be a great season for fashion! I mean who doesn't like shopping for Winter clothes or clothes in general!

London Fashion Week has also kicked off this week, promoting SS15 and some really intresting designers to look out for, such as Orla Kiely, Jean Pierre Braganza, Sibling and 1205. Along with some well known designers from Julien Macdonald to Sophia Webster and Jasper Conran. It was all in all a great week for designers and fashion all together.

Now when thinking of your Autumn / Winter Wardrobe, you want to be warm you want to open the wardrobe and feel like its a wardrobe worth the weather. The statement pieces i personally recommend are:

  • Jumpers, Jumpers and more Jumpers ! You can never be warm enough!
  • A coat or two, either plain in color or maybe even through in a pastel or dark musty orange
  • Scarfs (Tartan - black and red / Blue and black)
  • Boots (Chelsea Boots are right on trend now and will go with anything)
  • Turtle Neck sweatshirts (Black is a must but you could also try a white or pale pink)
  • Fluffy Slipper Socks (December essential)
  • Festive leggings or why not be brave and try the rip jean trend ???
  • Essential are some Black Jeans skinny or Baggy along with a pair of dark plum/ white/light blue jeans
  • And sometimes a little bit of faux fur won't hurt either!

Thats my essentials for AW14, but these could be guidelines for you, just be comfortable in what you wear but also be practical.

Sorry this was a short post,
Will write up another post mid-week,
Pretty Basic ~ Lauren xoxo
