Films you can watch again and again

Hey everyone,
This week my post is about my list of films I recommend, and they're ones you can't watch again and again.

I love watching comedy film and one of my all times favourite films is 'Grown Ups' with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schnider. In my opinion it's probably one of the funniest films ever! The story of the film is basically 5 childhood friends, who also played basketball together, and won the championship game when they were at school. 30years later they all receive phone calls saying that their basketball coach has died. They all reunite at the funeral with their families and kids and basically after the funeral all have a fun weekend away together. Throughout that time a lot of stuff happens and yeah it's just an all round funny film.

One of my other favourites would have to be 'The Proposal' starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. In this film Sandra Bullock plays a Canadian editor(Margret Tate) working for a New York book company. In the workplace she is described as a 'poisonous bitch' and other names. Ryan Reynolds plays the character of her assistant (Andrew Paxton) who has a dream of becoming an editor. When Margret finds out she has to get deported back to Canada and loose her job, Andrew is the only way out of the situation. She tells the company that she is 'marrying' Andrew therefore she won't have to be deported. Andrew agrees to fake marrying her, and they both take a trip to Alaska to visit Andrews family and make everyone think they are a real couple. Along the way they actually end up falling in love with eachother, but when it comes to their fake wedding will Margret back out? (Watch it and find out oooooo suspense)!

Other comedies/Rom coms I suggest you check out would be
Just go with it - Starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston
50 first dates - Starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler (put them together and they are a dream team)!
Blended - Starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler
Miss Congeniality - Starring Sandra Bullock
21 & 22 Jumpstreet - Starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum
Rushhour 1,2 & 3 - Starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker
Pitch Perfect - Starring Skylar Astin, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson
Kicking and Screaming - Will Ferral (most people probs won't enjoy this film lolllll)

I absoultly love Romantic(Drama) Films. I think sometimes it's good to have a cry and these films make me sob 😂.

My Favourite Romantic Film would have to be hands down 'Dear John' starring Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. It's basically a story of Love at first sight. John(Channing Tatum) meets college student Savannah(Amanda Seyfried) whilst he's on leave from the Army. After only meeting a few time the two fall in love pretty quickly. They are soon torn apart when John re- enlists and fulfils his duties in the army. They are both young and the separation is long can they survive the distance?
It is such a good film trust me! And Channing Tatum is in it soo that's like an added bonus!!!

Another one of my favourite films is 'A walk to remember' this film was made a while ago, so when I first watched it I wasn't sure whether I would have liked it buts it's one of my favourite films. It's a young love story, kind of typical really. There's the popular boy and the nerdy girl and they fall in love. It's as simple as that, yet it's one of the sweetest films I've ever seen, and if a boy did stuff like the character Landon did for her to me I would be so happy!!! 😂

Other Romantic(Dramas) films I like would be:
Last Song - Starring Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth
The Lucky One - Starring Zac Efron
The Vow - Starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams
Now is Good - Starring Dakota Fanning and Jeremy Irvine

Lastly Teen Films. This list will include Disney Channel Films (Sorry not sorry) becuase to be honest those films are great!

One of my all time favourite teen films is 'Another Cinderella Story' Starring Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley. This film is sort of the sequel to 'Cinderella Story' (with Hillary Duff) but it's a different story line and different characters. The story line obviously goes along with the cinderlla concept, but it's about a girl who loves to dance, but the people she live with get in the way of what she wants to do. But it's a brilliant film so if you haven't already seen is go check it out.

Another teen film I really love is a new one that came out in December last year called 'Expelled' This stars Cameron Dallas (who I absoultly love by the way) Andrea Russett, Marcus John and Lia Marie Johnson. It's basically about a guy called Felix (Cameron Dallas) who has been expelled from school, but can't let his parents find out or he will be send of to some other school that his brother goes to, that his brother hates. He asked to ask multiple people to help him out including his ex girlfriend, and gets into a lot of trouble along the way.
This film was so good and I was so proud of Cameron as this was his first film and he was amazing in it!

Other teen films I recommend are
Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging - Starring Aaron Taylor Johns and Georgia Groome
She's The Man - Starring Ashely Benson and Channing Tatum
Starstruck - Starring Sterling Knight
Lemonade Mouth - Starring Bridgit Mendler
Camp Rock 1 & 2 - Starring Demi Lovato and The Jonas Brother

I know I'm really childish for still liking Disney channel movies.... Oh well!

Anyway this is all for this weeks post! Have a good week, I have injections at school 😫!

2 Concerts 1 Weekend

Hi Guys,

Sorry for not posting a good post last weekend, I had such a busy few weeks!

So 2 weekends ago was probably one of the best weekends of my life! I had a concert on Saturday and on Sunday. That is literally my dream weekend, (as I am slightly addicted to going to concert. In all fairness it's just the same as boys always going to football matches). Anyway it was the most amazing weekend and yeah I thought i'd tell you a bit about it, so I can recommend some of the artists and bands I saw.

Saturday
Okay so on Saturday I went to a concert called 'Big Gig'. Basically what it is, is a concert that is held twice a year for the girl guides. A whole line up of singers come and perform a special gig for girls in the girl guiding community. This was my 4th Year in a row going. In the past I have seen people such as Ed Sheeran, Olly Murs, JLS, The Wanted, Little Mix, Conor Maynard and Overload. This Year was a great line up and I got to see: Union J, Kingsland Road, Little Mix, Neon Jungle, Diversity, Mike Dignam, Stacey Solomon and Stooshe. All of them were amazing and after the show we saw Thompson( kingsland road) and he said hi to us and stuff. Overall that was a really exciting night and Union J, were so amazing as I haven't seen the boys perform since December last year. I would highly recommend Little Mix, Union J, Kingsland Road and Mike Dignam. They were all amazing acts.

Sunday
ASDFGHJKL so here is the day I'm trying not to completely freak out over. I'm not going to lie I have been waiting for this day to come for months and it finally came. I SAW THE VAMPS OMFG OMFG!!!!! Sorry I am having such a fan girl moment right now! But this was the most amazing night of my life. Me and my 2 friends had tickets 12 rows from the front. The atmosphere was amazing and the boys saw our banner!!!! On top of all that, it was also the night The Vamps were recording their Concert DVD, so that pretty cool. Literally if you have not seen them live they are going on an arena tour next year with Union J, get tickets. If I haven't persuaded you enough i'll just say this... brad with sweaty hair is probably one of the most attractive things I've ever seen in my life.

This is going to be really awkward if you've just read all that and our like who the heck are the vamps! Well if you don't know who they are then go check out their youtube and vevo channel. I'll upload a few pictures from the concerts.

That's it from me this week. Hope you've all had a good weekend! Ewwwww it's Monday -_-

Wattpad

So this week I'm going to do a post about Wattpad.
If you don't know what it is, it's a free app where it allows you to read thousand of books that anyone can write and upload.
I have been absoultly obsessed with this app for quite a few months now.

I just thought I would talk to you about some of the books I have been enjoying and recommend for you to read.

I would first like to start of with probably my absoultly favourite book on Wattpad. It's called Can we dance and it is a fan fiction based around Bradley Simpson (lead singer from the Vamps) and a girl called Caitlin Denver who is played by Bethany Mota ( YouTuber). The plot of the story is basically Caitlin moves to Devon from Blackpool and happens to move in next door to Tristan Evans( drummer from  the vamps). One day Caitlin goes over there and her a brad have an immediate connection. Yeah and then shit happens, one direction are in it so are 5 seconds of summer and Austin Mahone. Overall it is such a good book the story line if fantastic. Honesty I could not put the book down. There is also a sequel called Can we dance 2, which after you have been reading the first one, you just have to read the second.

Another book I would recommend would be tough, which is a Cameron Dallas Fan fiction and this is one of my favourite Cameron Dallas fan fics. I think with this book the story line is just really good. Also the book just makes you want to marry Cameron!! (Well I wanted to do that anyone but it just makes me want to more 😂).  By the way if you don't know who Cameron Dallas is then where have you been! Joking it's fine if you don't know but he is a 20year old who got his game from twitters app Vine. And he does youtube videos and is becoming an actor.

This is all I am going to write this week sorry there hasn't been any post last week. My phone has been braking and deleting the posts I was writing.

Next weekend I am going to two concerts so my blog post will probably be a write up about those and if I recommend the artists I am seeing. On Saturday I am going to a concert called big gig, which is a concert for girl guides and at the moment Union J, Diversaity, Little Mix and Neon Jungle are going so yeah that should be fun. And on Sunday I am going to the Vamps which I am soooooooo excited for because I am like 12 rows from the front so that's pretty exciting but yeah that's all from me.

AW14 & London Fashion Week & Autumn / Winter Wardrobe

AW14 & London Fashion Week & Autumn / Winter Wardrobe

(First independent blog post from me 'no pressure' - Lauren xoxo )

AW14 is really on its way, the high street brands have been reeling in there Autumn Winter clothing and re arranging shelves and stock. Shops just like Topshop, H&M and Zara have all been awaiting AW14 with their campaigns promoting the upcoming trends and wardrobe essentials. Independent stores such as Serge DeNimes and OWKAY clothing have been awaiting AW14 with Serge DeNimes releasing tomorrow.
Overall AW14 surely looks to be a great season for fashion! I mean who doesn't like shopping for Winter clothes or clothes in general!

London Fashion Week has also kicked off this week, promoting SS15 and some really intresting designers to look out for, such as Orla Kiely, Jean Pierre Braganza, Sibling and 1205. Along with some well known designers from Julien Macdonald to Sophia Webster and Jasper Conran. It was all in all a great week for designers and fashion all together.

Now when thinking of your Autumn / Winter Wardrobe, you want to be warm you want to open the wardrobe and feel like its a wardrobe worth the weather. The statement pieces i personally recommend are:

  • Jumpers, Jumpers and more Jumpers ! You can never be warm enough!
  • A coat or two, either plain in color or maybe even through in a pastel or dark musty orange
  • Scarfs (Tartan - black and red / Blue and black)
  • Boots (Chelsea Boots are right on trend now and will go with anything)
  • Turtle Neck sweatshirts (Black is a must but you could also try a white or pale pink)
  • Fluffy Slipper Socks (December essential)
  • Festive leggings or why not be brave and try the rip jean trend ???
  • Essential are some Black Jeans skinny or Baggy along with a pair of dark plum/ white/light blue jeans
  • And sometimes a little bit of faux fur won't hurt either!

Thats my essentials for AW14, but these could be guidelines for you, just be comfortable in what you wear but also be practical.

Sorry this was a short post,
Will write up another post mid-week,
Pretty Basic ~ Lauren xoxo

Things that annoy me about school -_-

Ok so I've just started back at school this week, so far it is going terribly. I am stressed about GCSE's, and more importantly I'm stressed about the teachers and how annoying and strict they are being this term.

So basically, my school has got a new head teacher and he looks like one of the most scariest people ever. New head teacher means new rules, which has really pissed me off!

I'm first going to talk about Uniform. I don't know what it's like for other schools but at my school the rules are ridiculously stupid. We are not allowed to wear trousers that are skinny around the ankles. HOW STUPID! Like that's not effecting my learning or anyone else's for that matter. I think skinny trousers looks more smart than baggy ones, that just flap around everywhere!

The next thing, which is literally so stupid is, so everyone has just come back from summer and got there new school shoes. Most of the people at my school have leather Converse or Vans, which have always been expectable until NOW! Well that's no use telling people we're not allowed those shoes the day we arrive back from summer. LITERALLY HOW STUPID ARE MY SCHOOL! EVERYONE ISN'T MADE OF MONEY, SO THEY CAN'T BY NEW SCHOOL UNIFORM EVERY TIME THEY DECIDE THAT SOME UNIFORM ISN'T SMART ENOUGH!!!!! (I need to calm down).

Anyway, enough about uniform. I'm just going to write about stuff that really annoys me and school in general.

Ok the first thing is when a teacher asks a question and there are multiple people who have put their hand up that they could pick on, but nooooo they pick you the one without your hand up. I'm sorry but I think if I knew the answer I would have put my hand up. It annoys me so much, when they do that because I'm pretty sure it's clear I don't know the answer SO DON'T PICK ME!!

This next point kind of links to my first one. When teachers expect you to know the answer to something you have never learned about. So the teacher will ask you "What do you think this means?" and ill be like "I don't know." So they think it's a good idea then to ask "Just have a guess." I'm sitting there like I DON'T KNOW BECASUE I HAVE NEVER LEARNT THIS SHIT. How do they expect me to know it. (sorry school angers me).

Another thing is when teachers get things wrong after shouting at someone. Actually to be honest it annoys me that they shout, but it's so funny when they shout at someone for no reason, for example my friend came in to a lesson 20 minutes late the other day and my teacher had this big go at her about being late and after she had finished my friend just goes, "I had a hospital appointment." OHHHHHH AWKIES... for the teacher. I don't know it's just so funny when teachers get stuff wrong after shouting.

Bad Seating Plans (dun dun dunnnn). Ok so we all have that handful of teachers that do  the worst seating plans possible. I'm such a socially awkward person in certain situations and seating plans is one of those situations. It's when you get put next to someone who clearly doesn't want to talk to you and you clearly don't want to talk to them and it's just so awkward. Then the teacher tells you to do partner work or discuss something, it just gets so awkward and I just don't know what to do but sit there in silence!

Lastly - Bad Types of teachers. I hate when you get a bad teacher, who just can't teach properly. You either get the teacher that is just so bad at explaining everything, or the one who just stops, every time they hear the slightest noise like someone breathing (ok exaggerating a bit, but you get what I mean). Or you get the teacher that is just to god damn lazy to teach and just hands you confusing textbook work and you walk away not really taking in any information from that lesson. It's so annoying when they are like this!!!

Ok that's me done for this week, sorry it has been like a big rant about school. Hopefully some people can relate. I just has to get that stuff off my chest.

I believe Lauren should be posting on Sunday so watch out for that.

My Top 5 Albums of the Summer

Hi it's Abi,

As summer is drawing to an end I wanted to write about my top 5 favourite albums, that I have enjoyed listening to throughout the summer. I will write all the links to these albums at the end of the post.

5. The 1975
These past few months I have really been enjoying The 1975 self-titled album. I was first introduced to The 1975 in April, by my friend who had been a fan of them for a while. If you don't know who The 1975 are they are an English Indie rock group based in Manchester.
The reason I have really liked their album this summer is because it's so easy to listen to. The band are very unique and I highly recommend buying the album. A few of my favourite songs on the album are:
- The City
- M.O.N.E.Y.
-Chocolate
- Sex
- Settle Down
-She way out
-Menswear
- Pressure

4. Jack and Jack
Jack and Jack are an American duo, who have made there fame through Twitter's App 'Vine'. I have been a huge fan of the boys for a while now. This year they have released 7 singles and even their debut single 'distance I'm still not bored of. All of their songs are very chill and unique. They are very clever songwriters and have produced 7 huge hits for all their fans. The one song that I have highly enjoyed this summer, just because it is a feel good summer song is their third single 'Paradise'. This song was released earlier this year, yet it is has been a perfect summer song! These boys are amazingly talented and in my opinion deserve a lot more recognition for what they do, so be sure to check them out on Vine and Youtube. Also check out their songs on iTunes. There singles are:
-Distance
-Flights
-Paradise(Never Change)
- Doing It Right (Explicit)
- Wildlife
-Cold Hearted
-Tides

3. Ed Sheeran X
Since Ed Sheeran's New Album released in June. I have been obsessed with it. For me personally I think Ed is one of the best singer songwriters today. After his first album, which was a huge hit. He had a lot to live up to, but this album is amazing. It is an album you will never get bored of because it is so enjoyable to listen to. Some of my favourite track on this album are:
-One
-I'm a Mess
- Don't
- Photograph
- Bloodstream
-Thinking Out Loud
- Afire Love

2. Ariana Grande - My Everything
Although this Album only came out just over a week ago, it has been on repeat all week. This Album is exceptionally good. Ariana has collaborated with a lot of people on this Album including Big Sean, Jessie J, Nicki Minaj and Zedd. I love listening to Ariana's Music because she has such a beautiful, powerful voice, that you just want to hear over and over again. The tracks I have been liking most at the moment are
-One Last Time
-Best Mistake(Feat. Big Sean)
-Break You Heart Right(feat. Childish Gambino)
-Love Me Harder
-Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart
-My Everything
-Bang Bang

1. Shawn Mendes
Ok the big number 1! I can not stress enough how FANTASTICALLY AMAZING this person is. Shawn Mendes is a 16 year old singer songwriter who also made his fame off Twitter's app 'Vine' (like Jack & Jack). On the 28th July a few days before his 16th birthday, Shawn's first ever EP was released and reached number 1 on iTunes not long after the release. I have watched Shawn for a while since he started making six second vines. Since when he started his vine page last year he has been signed to Island Records. His EP consists of 4 songs
1.Life of the Party (his debut single)
2. Show You
3. One of Those Nights
4. The weight
In the EP Shawn Shows his musical and song writing talents. It's nice to have someone who is following in Ed Sheeran's footsteps, yet in his own way. I would tell you my favourite song on this EP, but honestly I don't have one. Shawn is most probably one of my favourite artist. I profoundly recommend this EP. It has certainly been one of my most played Albums ever since it's release.

So these are my top 5 summer Albums. Although this post has been about what I have been listening to in the summer these albums will defiantly stay on repeat throughout the year. I hope you have enjoyed this post. I will either post again on Sunday or next Friday.

*Before I end this post, I quickly want to talk about the Janoskians. Most people know them as a comedy, prank group off youtube, but they also have some music. The boys music they don't take to seriously and is so fun to listen to. The 4 singles that they have, are some of my favourite songs to listen to at the moment, so I deeply suggest checking those guys music out. Their 4 singles are:
-Set This World on Fire
-Best Friends(Explicit)
-Real Girls Eat Cake(Explicit)
-This Fuckin song(Explicit)
You can get the non explicit version Real Girls Eat Cake and This F**kin Song
